The Challenge
Artheon Medical was spending hundreds of hours every month manually processing Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents. Each file came in a different format, with varying layouts and inconsistent data structures. Their team had to extract and organize billing details line by line into spreadsheets, which made the process slow, repetitive, and expensive.
They needed a reliable system that could handle large volumes of EOBs automatically, standardize the data, and eliminate human error while maintaining complete accuracy.
Our Solution
FeatherFlow partnered with Artheon Medical to design and build PureClaim, an AI-powered platform that turns complex EOB documents into structured, ready-to-use data.
We started with a proof of concept to validate the extraction logic using Google Vertex AI. Once the results proved consistent and accurate, we scaled it into a full SaaS product with a robust multi-tenant architecture, admin dashboards, analytics, and a clean, minimal user interface.
The backend runs on a modular AI orchestration layer that validates, classifies, and extracts data from each document. It includes rate limiting, retry logic, and intelligent fallback mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted accuracy. Asynchronous batch processing keeps throughput high even during heavy loads.
The frontend is designed for clarity and speed, featuring:
Company-level user and permission management
Real-time job tracking and reporting
Automatic CSV and Excel export of processed data
Comprehensive admin controls for oversight and analytics
Every part of the system was designed for reliability, compliance, and scalability.
