The challenge
Alertsify had grown into a $10,000 MRR trading app, but its legacy Python desktop architecture was blocking distribution on Whop, the platform powering the modern creator economy. To scale, the product needed to evolve beyond a desktop-only experience and overcome technical and UX hurdles.
Key challenges included:
Outdated UI: The Tkinter-based desktop interface looked dated and couldn’t integrate with Whop’s app ecosystem.
Limited distribution: A desktop-only approach prevented listing on Whop’s marketplace and reaching new users.
Fragmented authentication: Supporting multiple trading platforms required separate logins, adding friction and creating security risks.
Unreliable connectivity: WebSocket issues caused frequent crashes during time-sensitive options trading.
Our solution
We rebuilt Alertsify as a native Whop App, transforming legacy desktop software into a seamless, TypeScript-based web platform that fully leveraged Whop’s ecosystem.
Key improvements included:
Platform architecture: Rebuilt with Next.js and TypeScript, running entirely within Whop’s iframe environment with automatic user authentication through Whop.
Brokerage integration: Unified trading across multiple platforms through a single SnapTrade API connection.
Data & realtime performance: Supabase for scalable data management and WebSocket connectivity optimized for time-sensitive trading operations.
Community integration: Automatic Discord webhook alerts to keep users and communities updated in real time.
The results
Within 12 hours of launch on Whop's marketplace, Alertsify generated over $6,000 in revenue, proving immediate traction and validating the rebuild.
